Tris’s initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
After reading Divergent, I instantly switched to the next book of the series. Insurgent is a great book too with lots of thrilling scenes. The time when Eric was behind Tris when she helped a young girl escape made my heart pound. I won’t be saying much scenes since I don’t want to spoil the fun.
This book is the part when our protagonists met the Amity and taking the Candor’s truth simulation. Since Tris and Tobias can withstand simulations, they actually stopped themselves from telling too much information. Tris, on the other hand, resisted the simulation yet still sang the truth about her killing Will. If you read Divergent already, you’ll know that Christina is Will’s girlfriend. Being Christina’s friend, it hurts Tris to say something such as this but she know it’s for the best.
Then at the end, they killed Jeanine. I started to think what would happen to the third book now. But since I can’t tell you too much information about Insurgent, I will stop at this point.Let me know your ideas, opinions and recommendations on the comment section.
